I have a closet full of clothes. Fashion is something I really love and a way to express my personality to the outside world. I could not imagine myself wearing one single outfit for a very long time. Ofcourse I do have my favorite stunning outfit, that I do wear more often. But imagining myself wearing that for a year, is not possible.
Sheena Matheiken, a British lady who has her roots in India, is trying to wear the same outfit for one year. She started May 2009 with the Uniform Project. Since sheena is educated in India herself, she had to wear a school uniform to school. Children in India express their personality, with decorating their uniform with accessories. That inspired Sheena for this project."There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day she will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like she just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade's boudoir.

The Uniform Project is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. At the end of the year, all contributions will go toward Akanksha’s School Project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for slum children in India."
I'm a fan of Sheena. Her idea is ingenious: combining fashion with a good cause sounds excellent! Check her website, it's worth a (daily) visit. You can donate money or accesories for her good cause, come on give her the pro. I will follow her for this year, that's for sure and where can I buy that dress?
